Dartmoor proof in a flat 'at. Really excellent!

Montane?? At that price? Let's test it. Meindl boots, Bridgedale socks, Brasher trousers, Tog24 undervest plus Dartmoor rain. No backpack, no umbrella, no sweat ...OK, an underarm sample. All good!

Looks good and is a good fit but as with a lot of Goretex clothing you sound like a crisp packet when walking

Wet wet wet

Stylish, good fit BUT falls at the most important obstacle: it's just not waterproof. I got soaked to the skin today in its first test in the elements and it was hardly bucketing it down. Rubbish

Lightweight, comfortable but not so waterproof
3_5 out of 5

This jacket is lightweight, looks great, fits well and has some very good features however, I only managed to wear it twice in anger and unfortunately it let me down both times and I got wet.

The jacket has yet...
3_5 out of 5

The jacket has yet to be properly tested, but eyes do not lie, its a quality jacket and a slimmer fit. Zips and waterproofing in all nooks and crannies are most of our basic expectations, so far so good. There are others on the market as good, time will tell with any small problems picked up. Wrist Velcro could be broader.

I have not used...
3_5 out of 5

I have not used this jacket in bad weather yet. It feels very well made (as expected from this manufacturer) and the pockets are well placed to be accessible when wearing a rucksack. I needed a size larger than usual so that I could wear winter clothing with comfort, but that is to expected! The lower hem comes level with my hip joints which is long enough to overlap my water proof trousers although the back of the jacket does come a few inches lower which is good. All in all, bar testing in torrential rain, I feel that this is a good product.
The only possible shortcoming is that there are no inside pockets (doesn't really bother me).
